Deliveries
In order to ensure that all deliveries are dispatched quickly, efficiently, and safely to tenant floors, all deliveries must be made through the loading dock/service entrance to the service elevator during loading dock hours. Below is specific information pertaining to each building.
1100 4th Street SW (East building):
- Hours: Monday through Friday from 6:00am until 6:00pm and Saturday from 6:00am to 11:00am.
- Location: The loading dock is accessible via Wesley Place SW, or K Street SW.
- Path of Travel: The service elevator is located at the end of the service corridor connected to the loading dock.
- Bays: There are seven (7) bays total - however there is one (1) bay for office tenants which is located in front of the loading dock security office. The width of this bay is 15 feet.
- The six (6) remaining bays are not available for use by office tenants as they are used for the following:
- One (1) for neighboring residental building
- Four (4) for Safeway's deliveries and compactor
- One (1) containing building recycling containers

- Dock Platform Dimensions: Platform's height is four (4) feet off the ground.
- Dock Height: Loading dock opening is approximately 14 feet tall and up to 37 feet wide.
- Service/Freight Elevator Dimensions: 41.5 inches wide, 70 inches deep, and 95 inches tall. Weight capacity is 3,500 lbs. The rear door of the service elevator must be used.
1101 4th Street SW (West building):
- Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 6:00pm.
- Location: Accessible via the alley that runs parallel to 4th Street SW. This alley is accessible off 4th Street, Makemie Place and M Street.
- Path of Travel: Take the freight elevator on the loading dock to P1. Deliveries must be moved across P1 to the service elevator next to the elevator lobby, to reach floors 1 - 8.
- Bays: There are 3 bays total. Two (2) of these are for Waterfront Station's tenants. The remaining bay on the far right belongs to the neighboring residential building. The width is 15 feet at each bay.
- Dock Platform Dimensions: Platform's height is four (4) feet off the ground.
- Dock Height: Loading dock opening is approximately 14 feet tall and up to 37 feet wide.
- Freight Elevator Dimensions: 96 inches wide, 96 inches tall, 120 inches deep. Weight capacity is 6,000 lbs.
- Service Elevator Dimensions: 41.5 inches wide, 70 inches deep, and 95 inches tall. Weight capacity is 3,500 lbs. The rear door of the service elevator must be used.
Delivery FAQ:
Please refer to the list below for answers to frequently asked questions. The information below applies to both 1100 and 1101 4th Street SW.
- Is a Certificate of Insurance (COI) required from the vendor? Yes, a COI is needed from any vendor using the loading dock, in accordance with the terms of your Lease. Please contact the Property Management Office for the specific information that is needed.
- Is an advance delivery appointment required? Yes, please notify the Property Management Office at least 48 hours before your delivery.
- What is the unloading time limit? Deliveries cannot last more than four (4) hours.
- Is parking available? Parking for any people assisting in the delivery in separate vehicles is not allowed on the loading dock due to other deliveries, and trash and recycling pickups. Note that Property Management cannot provide validation for tenant's contractors to park in the garage.
- What are the security requirements? The delivery company will be required to check in with the guard at the loading dock, sign in, and show identification.
- Do we need to remove items from pallets before bringing into the building? Yes, to prevent any damage from occuring anywhere that is on the delivery's path of travel, items must be removed from the pallet before being brought into the building. The delivery company must take the pallets with them when they depart. Wood pallets cannot be placed in the building's trash dumpsters or recycling compactor.
- Is protective floor covering required? Yes, the floor should be covered from the service elevator to its destination. This is only necessary on the floor where the delivery is made.
- Can you provide a pallet jack? No. If one is needed, the delivery vendor will need to provide it.
- Is there storage available onsite? No, the building does not have extra storage for deliveries. Tenants must take possession of the items immediately.
General Policies
Only the service (freight) elevator may be used for deliveries to prevent damage to the passenger elevators.
If a delivery cannot be made during the established hours, special arrangements must be made in advance with the Property Management Office. However, no responsibility will be accepted by the building for loss of, or damage to, items being delivered.
